To młodzież ze średnią powyżej pięć, to młodzież, która zmaga się z licznymi trudnościami, nadranne wstawanie, przystanki, zimne dworce, późny powrót do domu, często pomoc w gospodarstwie - tak charakteryzowała laureatów stypendium im. Andrzeja Radka Kazimiera Zapałowa, prezes Towarzystwa im. Stefana Żeromskiego.

W tym roku stypendia otrzymały 22 osoby - cztery studentki oraz 18 uczennic i uczniów szkół ponadgimnazjalnych. Na początku wczorajszej uroczystości ich wręczenia Kazimiera Zapałowa, która od 1987 roku opiekuje się Radkami i zabiega o środki na stypendia, odznaczona została Krzyżem Kawalerskim Orderu Odrodzenia Polski.
