Stosowny wniosek został złożony w Ministerstwie Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego. W uzasadnieniu twórcy napisali, że wyróżnienie należy się prezydentowi Kielc "w uznaniu jego zasług związanych z kulturą i sztuką".
