 Legendarny brytyjski DJ radiowy, John Peel, zmarł na zawał serca w wieku 65 lat. Peel był wraz z żoną w Peru, gdzie doznał śmiertelnego ataku serca. Jego kariera obejmowała 40 lat. Był on najstarszym prezenterem popularnej na Wyspach Brytyjskich stacji radiowej BBC Radio 1. John Peel pracował w Radio 1 od czasu powstania tej stacji w 1967 roku. |
Był jednym z pierwszych DJów, którzy promowali punk, reggae i hip-hop, zanim gatunki te stały się powszechnie znane i popularne. Program Johna Peela stał się z czasem popularny na całym świecie.
