 | W Paryżu zmarła francuska aktorka Simone Simon, urodzona w Marsylii, karierę rozpoczynała jako modelka - miała 93 lata. Jej uroda zwróciła uwagę amerykańskiego producenta Darryla Zanucka, który zaprosił Simon do Hollywood. |
W sumie w Stanach Zjednoczonych nakręciła 11 filmów, w tym "Siódme niebo" z 1937 roku, w którym partnerował jej James Stewart. Po sukcesie jaki odniosła w USA, już jako międzynarodowa gwiazda, wróciła w 1938 roku do Francji, gdzie zagrała u Jeana Renoira w "Bestii ludzkiej". W okresie II wojny światowej wróciła do USA, gdzie zagrała w serii horrorów, w tym w "Ludziach-kotach". Z kariery zawodowej wycofała się w 1956 roku.
